I want to make apple and cinnamon muffins for a school assignment. I was going to use dried apple but I’m not sure it will taste any good.

Granny Smith apples, the green ones.. they bake softer, faster and are sweeter..sound delicious!

  2. TxRose says:

use what the recipe calls for… if it calls for dry, use them. If it calls for fresh, use that. Dry and fresh fruits are generally not interchangeable for each other, and I can see muffins really getting screwed up if you use one and should have used the other.
If you can use fresh, I like granny smith or honeycrisp.

Instead of making apple and cinnamon muffins, why not making fresh apples cut up like an onion wring then coated with egg and flour and then cooked in that oil thing. Then combine salt, sugar, and cinnamon and coat the cooked apple with it!! Its an easy process and tastes like heaven!

It is advisable to use dried apples as fresh the ones will make the muffin too moist. There should be not much difference between the fresh and dried ones.

    Fresh apples are better.
    If I were you,
I would use Jonagold or Pink Lady apples.
They taste delicious and they will bring
    a freshness to the muffins.

What does the recipe your using call for? If it doesn’t say I find that Granny Smith and HoneyCrisp work well. Hope this helps.
