I ordered this TV from Amazon, delivery was very prompt and the crew was friendly and set it up for me. Guess what, it did not work! Unit had no power at all, would not even turn on. I refused delivery and sent it back. I called Amazon right away and within 2 days has another set at my door! Fantastic customer service! Well guess what, it did not work either. No power and would not turn on. I checked, it wasnt the same set delivered twice, it was two different items. I was bummed out because I have been wanting this TV for months. Samsung makes a great product and I would buy one again, but I am afraid of this model. If they can prove that this was just a new model glitch, then I might order another one. Service was great, product was not. I would like to know if anyone else had this problem.
******ADDED 6/4/2009*****
I decided to give it one more shot, ordered a third TV and the third time was the charm.
The picture is spectacular, I am very happy with the new one. Once again very quick and friendly service from Amazon and Pilot trucking. Buy one, you will love it.

Before purchasing google the tech/repar sites for the hundreds/thousands of dis-satisfied customers that have had hdmi port and power board failure.

Conveniently for Samsung this usually only occurs after the warranty had run out.

I have a 2008 Samsung LCD HDTV that has had two hdmi ports and the power board fail.

The most ridiculous part of all of this - is that Samsung continues to use old/cheap capacity resistors on their boards (ones the manufacturer said were obsolete back in 1999 - ten years ago!).

The picture is beautiful -- 5 stars.

The physical unit is attractive; it looks good in the living room -- 5 stars.

The remote is average -- quite complicated as is normal these days and the layout of the buttons is merely usable enough -- 3 stars.

The instructions and set-up are overly complicated. The single most frustrating aspect of home theater is the large number of possible equipment combinations and how they should be connected and configured to get the best possible picture for a given programming selection. There should be pictures and diagrams for every possible combination of equipment and this should be the largest section of the manual. The on-screen set-up menus need to be logically accessible and offer positive feedback to user inputs. The quality of the documentation was average for the industry, which is to say it was pretty miserable. The wording, logic, accessibility and feedback of the on-screen set-up controls was also average for the industry and likewise miserable. This is more of a criticism of the industry as a whole, but it gets -- 3 stars.

The response to buttons on the remote control is extremely slow. This is a usability nightmare. It leaves the user wondering if they pressed hard enough? Do they need to press again? Is the remote aimed correctly? Did they press the correct button? and so on. This is an on-going issue that persists for the life of the television. Because this has such a large and ongoing impact on the user experience I give this -- 1 star.

Great picture and appearance.
Average remote, set-up and instruction.
Bad usability because of slow electronics.

This review is for the CEVA delivery company. I ordered my TV 2 weeks ago and still do not have it. It was misplaced and lost in Atlanta for 8 days. Once found it was sent to Savannah,GA which is a 30 min drive from my house. Now I have to wait 3 days for final delivery. I wish I would have paid more at best buy and just brought it home from the store. The TV better not be damaged or I will be irate. The bad delivery service has taken the fun out of buying this expensive TV.
