College application require some time. here are only a few tips you could follow:

Take Your Time

There is no way to create a stand-out application overnight. You are going to need to take your time–a lot of time–if you want to get it just right. This is especially true if you are applying to more than one school or an especially selective school.

Write an Authentic Essay

The essay portion of the college application isn’t the most critical, but it has the potential to be. If you are able to showcase yourself and your personality in your essay, your college application is sure to stand out. When you choose your topic, pick something that is personal to you.

Include an Addendum

Different schools require different things during the college application process. Some want three essays, where others want two. Some ask for recommendation letters, and some do not. One thing that is never asked for, but is always allowable is an addendum. An addendum is an additional document that you can submit to strengthen your application.

Press release:

CollegeZapps Guided Interview Helps College-Bound Hopefuls Tackle College Application Crisis

Littleton, Colo. — August 25, 2008 — “Lower admission rates for hopeful college applicants has jumped tremendously causing heightened anxiety among already nervous high school students. There’s a sense of shock among parents at seeing extraordinarily talented kids getting rejected. Recent press articles and other media have begun to define this as the college application crisis,” said David Kenney, CEO, CollegeZapps.

CollegeZapps, LLC is the fast and easy way to apply to college today and it’s designed to help students tackle the college application crisis. CollegeZapps is backed by a proven technology that directs an online interview to efficiently collect required information from prospective college applicants. The information is then used to expedite completion of all the college applications the student wishes to submit.

“Helping students apply to college is what CollegeZapps is all about. Helping them remain sane as they finish their high school careers is an added, and welcome bonus,” said, Kenney, who is also a father with an eye on the collegiate future of his children. “We’re all about helping students be successful.”

Trends suggest there are more prospective students applying for the same number of openings, hence competition has intensified.
According to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) 2007 State of College Admission report, recent trends include:

• More than 60 percent of high school graduates are enrolling in college within a year of graduating from high school.
• There are 800,000 more high school graduates than a decade ago
• As of 2005, more than 17.3 million students were enrolled in degree-granting post-secondary institutions. Total college enrollment is expected to continue increasing until at least 2015.
• For the second year in a row, approximately three-quarters of four-year colleges and universities reported an increase in the number of applications from the previous year.
• The College Board suggests that some students are now applying to 20 or more colleges while in the past seven or eight colleges was the norm
• Many highly selective colleges reported their lowest acceptance rates ever

“I work with high school students every day in their college application process. It is a painful and tedious one. A few years ago students would want to apply to two or three colleges. Now, they want to apply to eight or 10. While the applications are available to download from the Internet, students have to print them then fill them in by hand or by typewriter. This process is time consuming and leads to many errors. With CollegeZapps, completing college applications is so easy. Students can now spend more time choosing what colleges best fit them, applying to more colleges in less time, and reducing the redundancy that comes with filling out multiple application forms,” said Joe Eberle, independent education consultant and publisher of The College Gazette.

“So often I think how much times have changed and the roadblocks students now face just to apply to college. CollegeZapps is easy to use and produces highly personalized applications. Our proven, powerful technology helps students with the application process, and students are our highest priority,” continued Kenney.

CollegeZapps is compiling a collection of applications to the most applied to universities and colleges in the United States. Currently there are more than 1,000 colleges and universities from all across the nation available at www.collegezapps.com. Additional colleges and universities will be added weekly to the site. CollegeZapps charges $5 per application and students are able to print professional-looking applications that can be reviewed by their parents and family or guidance counselors. Their information can also be edited and updated online. Once a student decides they’ve put together their best application, it’s ready for submission to their schools of their choice.
