Another form of navigation is called a site map. This is a one-stop location that lists all of the pages on a Web site.

Although this is only a portion of the entire site map, you can see its function. It lists out each category of the site, along with all related pages.

The nice thing about a site map is that it’s a concentrated location that lists all the pages on the Web site. Unfortunately, the visitors must navigate through your pages in the first place to reach the site map.

For this reason, it’s best to use site maps as a supplement to another navigation scheme. For example, Apple has a link on their main page that gives the user access to the site map.
