Drug Rehabs in San Francisco have long searched for the most effective way to treat drug addiction. Some of them have used the 12 step approach, some a medical approach and other drug rehabs a scientific approach, all of them reporting a high rate of relapse among their patients.
No matter how hard the addiction treatment community worked, patients continued to relapse.
Individualized narconon treatment in San Francisco
One aspect of rehab that one physician recognized was that patients admitted to rehab were all admitted to the same drug rehabilitation program, regardless of their needs or background. This meant the patient had to fit into the drug rehab program rather than the drug rehab program changing to meet their specific needs.
The end result was that if the patient couldn’t wasn’t a perfect fit for the drug treatment program relapse was almost certain. Finally some San Francisco drug rehabs designed drug addiction treatment programs that were able to design their programs around their patient s needs.
Drug Addiction Treatment Comes of Age
The drug rehabs of which we speak have taken drug treatment to another level. They have developed treatment components within their drug rehabilitation programs which specialize in certain areas of treatment. One such area is dual diagnosis treatment and the other is treatment for the gay and lesbian population.
While the drug treatment centers still provide state of the art treatment for drug addiction and alcoholism, they have developed highly specialized areas of treatment for these patient populations. This allows the alcohol and drug treatment services in san francisco to bend to the patient’s needs instead of the other way around.

You folks are truly dedicated individuals, doing such good work for society !
As a recovering alcoholic now 18 mos+, I had no problem saying fairwell to liquor, as it destroyed my health & that of my late husbands, without warning.
I’ve discovered there are many like ourselves, except they do not speak of it, due to shame.
Many of us are trying to somehow convince our Canadian Government to pass mandatory law, for all liquor containers to bear a large health warning, similar to whats been forced on Cigarette Manufacturers.
While I realize its too late for many of us afflicted, we have to somehow try and prevent the same from happening to our youth !

There is both a physical and psychological dependence with the addiction of alcoholism. Physical dependence reveals itself by withdrawal systems when the intake of alcohol is interrupted, tolerance to the effects of alcohol, and evidence of illness due to alcohol consumption. Psychological dependence manifests itself with the use of alcohol for relief of anxiety and depression or for social acceptance and reaction to peer pressures.
